The Friends of BCA (FoBCA) is a
voluntary group of concerned
citizens whose mission it is to
contribute to seeing that the
BCA is protected and utilised to
the benefit of the general
public now and for the future.
They are affiliated to WESSA
Western Cape. |

The FoBCA is similar to the
Friends of Rietvlei (who did
sterling work in saving the
present vlei from being
developed), and other similar
Friends organisations throughout
South Africa. Friends of BCA
organises outings and events for
members and other interested
persons, go to the

The Friends of BCA is a
registered Nonprofit
Organisation and as such the
constitution must comply with
certain requirements. A new
constitution was adopted in
April 2008 and can be viewed

Membership |
|
The Friends of BCA is a
nonprofit organisation. They
depend on membership fees to
cover the costs of running such
an organisation (this is not
high, but there are costs to be
covered). Members are not only
the eyes and ears to warn the
managing authorities of
activities or threats that could
harm the BCA, those that are
still active can contribute to
the management of the
conservation area by joining
hack groups, etc. |
Membership fees are as follows:
Ordinary membership: R50.00 per annum
Family membership: R60.00 per
annum
Corporate membership: R250.00 per annum |
